Purpose:
This blog was originally created for classes being currently taken in College but I see it as an opportunity to do so much more than just a class assignment. I hope through this medium to be able to reach not only my classmates but others and help them to learn things they may or may not have always known.
About: I am 18 years old and currently a freshman in college, exploring all the new things that come with the territory of being able to be called a college student. I was homeschooled almost all of my life so everything is new to me but I am doing my very best to keep up and not fall behind. I love to read, any book I can get my hands on. Which is why I have the best job ever, which allows me to read during the times I am not really busy. I am a current lifeguard working at the Warren County Aquatics Center. I absolutely love being a lifeguard, love my boss and coworkers, and just my job in general. I love taking Martial Arts and love learning how the philosophies taught through these arts can be applied in my everyday life. I currently study Hapkido, which means way of coordinating energy, and is one of the three main arts studied in Korea. My martial arts instructor has been like a second father to me and has always accepted me for who I am. I am a huge advocate for anti-bullying, marriage equality, and for people struggling through hard times. I know what I love to do and somehow would love to impact people some day, I am just not sure yet which degree will allow me to benefit others in the best way. I love the study of Forensic Anthropology, I love teaching people new things, I love everything to do with the water, and I know I want to be an advisor or advocate to teens and young adults who are struggling. So who knows maybe a degree in Forensic Anthropology and a minor in psychology, or maybe I will join the Coast Guard. I don't have it all figured out but life isn't about the destination it is about the journey it takes to get there.
